Scientific Research in Biology uses...

an INQUIRY based approach in the sciences involves a process of exploring the natural or material world, and that leads to asking testable questions, making discoveries, and testing those discoveries in the search for new understanding.  It is a process  that may lead to a significant understanding of biological concepts.

Remember a research problem is an attempt to solve a question that does not have an answer.
The crucial point here is that research is a study about things that we do not know.

After we look at the biological research done to date, we will test you on what you have
learned so far.  The point of a test exam isn't to see if a student gets all the answers right.
The point is to identify a student's learning weaknesses, mostly to see where one needs
to invest some more effort to increase their knowledge and learning of the concepts.
