A more Complete Human Genome Reference
A complete Human genome, a Pangenome is a collection of diverse genomes of the Human population.

A pangenome should include a rich diversity of people to better reflect the global population.

On 10 May 2023 the Human Pangenome Reference Consortium, funded by the U.S.’s NHGRI, announced a draft pangenome assembly for 47 people of diverse ancestries and an alignment of those individual genomes to show, which parts match and which differ.

Plans are to increase the number of people in the data to 350 by mid-2024.
