Coastal Ecology Laboratory

MISSION STATEMENT: The long-term goal of this research is to better understand coastal processes in the tropical carbonate islands of the Bahamian archipelago. We wish to develop methods to remotely map an integrated coastal zone of plant communities and near shore marine communities, looking at the environments above and below the water. This mapping can help identify environmental damage from a variety of sources, as well as monitor restoration or mitigation efforts.
